Winter season sometimes provide an attractive outdoor scene. It can also bring rigorous drop in temperature drop making it difficult for some people to regulate their body temperatures. Family caregivers can help their senior loved ones as the winter season can be harsh. Your loved one may need your help in remaining healthy in winters. 1: Keep Them Warm

Winter flues, hypothermia, and frost bites are some things people experience during winters. Family caregivers should check thermostat of their loved one's room, and set it at a comfortable temperature for him or her. You should try to make sure your loved one is wearing more layers of clothes which may prevent him or her from getting cold or the flu. You can also advise them to stay put in the evening or late night to avoid hypothermia or winter flues. If your loved one starts shivering then wrap him or her in a warm blanket or provide a heating pad.

2: Encourage Them to Exercise

Exercising in winter may help some seniors in sustaining their body temperature.
